Kate (Brittany Snow) is the new girl in school. She catches John Tucker (Jesse Metcalfe) dating three different girls at once: Carrie - the smart girl, Heather - the cheerleader, and Beth - the activist slut; none of them are aware that they are not the only girl in John's heart. Kate, having been raised by a single mother, has seen the pain caused by playboys like John Tucker, and she won't stand idly by. Together with the three jilted ex-girlfriends, they hatch a plan to teach John a lesson. Things rarely go as planned, especially when Kate starts to think that she might be falling for John herself.

Did You Know?

Director Betty Thomas referred to all the actors by their characters' names, since, she claims, she couldn't remember their real names, and she wanted to think of them as their character. When she forgot their characters' names, she'd simply refer to them as "person".

Continuity: At the end when Scott and Kate are talking, you can see a black man wearing a yellow shirt with what seems to be a bandaged left ear pass behind Scott. The scene the switches back to Kate, then when it switches back to Scott, the same guy passes behind him again.

Scott: I don't think she's your type...
John Tucker: Girl is my type!

User Review

Cute, Cute, The "Johns" out there Must die. Just kiddin.

Rating: 7/10

OK, so I went to see this with my mom who is over 55, my niece who is 15 and I am you have assorted ages and opinions and point of views...Well we all thought is was going to be cute and funny but we didn't think we would laugh the whole time and think that it would actually have a good story to it. I thought that my mother and I liked it more than my niece did, I'm not sure if that was because we could relate to the moral of the story but I know she laughed a lot louder than we did at times. But we all laughed. The crowd was mostly teens. Compared to other movies out this summer I think it is worth paying the day or night rate. I would actually go see it again.
