Returning from a hunting trip in the forest, the Henderson family's car hits an animal in the road. At first they fear it was a man, but when they examine the "body" they find it's a "bigfoot". They think it's dead so they decide to take it home (there could be some money in this..). As you guessed, "it" isn't dead. Far from being the ferocious monster they fear "Harry" to be, he's a friendly giant. Did You Know?

Trivia:
M. Emmet Walsh plays John Lithgow's father, when in actuality Walsh is only 10 years older than Lithgow.

Goofs:
Revealing mistakes: The Hendersons' station wagon is clearly already damaged in the close-up of it hitting Harry. The headlight cover is already open instead of coming open in the crash, and damage to the left front panel is grossly exaggerated and inconsistent with hitting Harry the way they did.

Quotes:
George Henderson: [on the phone] No, no, no Bigfoot here, Sergeant. I was just joking. It's just a prank, uh, I'm not even George Henderson. You must have reached the wrong number.
[hangs up]
George Henderson: We're on our own.

User Review

You will fall in love with Harry!

Rating: 9/10

You will fall in love with Harry and wish that Bigfoot / Sasquatch was real. A funny, endearing movie! There are several messages along the way: 1) Some humans are more beastly than animals; 2) Forgiveness is a powerful healer; and 3) Protect the wilderness, for it contains many wonderful things that are not always apparent to us. This movie is a family favorite!
